The Summit Development Grant
Many of the sponsors of this conference view their participation as being an important component of their corporate program for social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
The social and environmental relevance of the conference is on the following two levels:
- First, the conference discusses in depth topics critical to corporate social and environmental responsibility within the soy sector.
- Secondly, all profits from the conference will fund a grant to support community development and education projects in the Third World - the "Summit Development Grant."
The Summit Development Grant will be awarded by the following mechanism:
- From April 6 through August 31, duly registered participants in the conference can nominate Candidate Organizations for consideration, who are conducting development projects.The brief nomination form is provided on the following page.
- From August 31 through September 15, a committee comprised of representatives of all sponsors of the conference will select three Finalist Candidate Organizations.
- As part of the Dinner program for the second evening of the conference, the three Finalist Candidate Organizations will make short presentations on their community development. Conference participants will be able to ask questions of the presenters as part of this program.
- During the last day of the conference, participants will cast their votes to select the organization that will receive the Summit Development Grant. Votes will be counted during the final coffee break of the conference and the Summit Development Grant awarded at the beginning of the final session of the conference.
